Using Estrogen as a Mechanism in Multiple Sclerosis: Oestrogen receptor beta (ERβ) ligands have been identified as potential candidates in achieving neuroprotection and preventing neuronal degeneration in MS. Targeting ERβ signaling pathways in CD11c+ cells is a novel strategy for regulating the innate immune system of MS.
