The Tom Sherak MS Hope Foundation is a Donor-Advised Fund of The UCLA Foundation, formed in January 2013 under the leadership of entertainment executive and philanthropist, Tom Sherak.
Tom’s daughter, Melissa, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1988 when she was 15 years old. From that day forward, Tom poured his efforts into advocating for a cure for MS, raising over $44M in 26 years to contribute to the cause. In addition to supporting research efforts, Tom and his wife Madeleine focused much of their energy working to support programs and immediate assistance – both through the National MS Society and the Sherak Family Fund at UCLA.
Although he is no longer with us, Tom’s legacy continues to rally us all to support cutting edge research, develop new potential treatments, help those locally in need, and ultimately discover a cure for MS. It is with his drive and spirit that we commit to “Think Like Tom” for Melissa, our loved ones, and thousands of other people that suffer from the disease.
